Family Bible Memory
November 3, 2011It is time to start thinking about choosing a Bible passage to memorize! Due date is now Friday January 27.
By the end of January or early February, students will recite, from memory, a 5 to 8 verse Bible passage they have worked on with the help of their families. This passage may be a Psalm, a teaching of Jesus, an epistle excerpt, a parable or other story, etc. The text should hang together -- not random verses -- but verses may be omitted to end up with a more understandable piece.
Generally, Grade 3's will be expected to learn a longer text than Grade 2's, but take into consideration your child's ability.
We will still be doing our regular Bible memorization as well. Contact me if you have questions.

Interview
November 2, 2011We want to put into practice the injunction in our recent Bible memory passage from Psalm 105, to remember and tell about God's wonderful acts and miracles. Students are to ask their parents or grandparents to tell them a story of God's wonderful acts in their own lives, recently or in the past. Then the students will retell their stories to the class during our morning devotions. We hope to hear a few stories every day over the next week!

Bible memory
October 17, 2011October's Bible memory work is Psalm 105:1-6. This is due Wednesday October 26. I mark memory work on a scale of 1 to 4: 1= not meeting expectation, 2= minimal, 3= meeting expectation, and 4= exceeding expectation. Grade Two students need to memorize verses 1-4 to "meet expectation". Grade 3 students need to memorize verses 1-5 to "meet expectation".
