"Because of our Bible videos, I now have a clearer understanding that one person can truely make a difference. One King can save a whole nation..."

"God is the last word, hope for the hopeless, and the light in the darkness. No matter what, God created you in a way no one can copy."

"This year I have come to appreciate what God does; how He is willing to help someone even if that person is not doing what God asked for. That is comforting too, knowing that God will have our back, even if we are not perfect."

    • WELCOME!

      September 20, 2011

      Hello Everyone!

School is now in full swing...it is great to have everyone back in the classroom. We have had a great start to the school year. The grade 6/7 class is year is nice and full and we have enjoyed getting to know each other. The grade 6 students are catching on quickly and the grade 7's are doing their best to provide leadership and help when needed.

We have three new students this year! Holly, Steele and Sam. Holly and Steele have been fitting in well with the class and we are excited to have them here. We also have Sam working with Miss Braam this year, who has been adjusting well to a new school. We are looking forward to learning more about Sam this afternoon and hopefully seeing her in the classroom more as she adjusts to a new environment.

I hope everyone is getting used to the new routine of school. I am looking forward to getting to know these students better and having another excellent year at Centennial. I am also looking forward to having a new aid in the classroom sometime in the next couple weeks. We trust that God will provide the help and support that is needed for such a large class.

Also a quick thank you to those who volunteered to help at the Shoreline Clean Up this year! We look forward to cleaning up Ferry Island on Wednesday and we can't do it without your support.

Please take the time to look around the chalkboard and let me know if there is anything you would like included on this page. Have a great week!

  • What's On The Agenda?

    • French

      February 8, 2012

We are working our way through the skit "L'arbre ungali". Roles will be given out next term and you can look forward to another entertaining cafe theatre before the end of the year.

Students should be reviewing their gestures from the DVD at home on a regular basis.

    • Unit Studies

      February 8, 2012

Electricity - We have begun the second half of our electricity unit, which focuses on energy resources. The students are currently learning about all of the energy resources available to us and will be participating in a debate on the pros and cons of using each resource. They should be reviewing their material on a regular basis and participating well in our practice debates in class.

Gammage Cup Day was a huge success! Please check out our pictures!

We are now entering into our 2nd round of Literature Circles. Each student has been placed in a reading group and will be completing one new assignment per week. The group members are required to hold each other accountable to staying on top of their schedules and supporting each other in any way they can. I would encourage parents to talk with their child about their novels as the material can be quite shocking and intense.

      February 8, 2012

To start off our final term, we have begun a new unit on the Intertestimonial Period. We are learning about each of the major world empires during this time in order to understand the world Jesus lived in and the significance of the type of servant leader he was. Students should be participating well in class and making sure to complete each of their assignments. This unit will tie in very well with our next Unit Studies unit on Ancient Rome.
